Stitching Documents Allows for a More Efficient Workflow

SEC Filings can be long. An annual filing consists of multiple distinct parts and can often be hundreds or even thousands of pages long, meaning that oftentimes it takes an entire team of people to assemble. On top of that, annual reports must be submitted in inline XBRL (iXBRL) format. With demanding deadlines that are already difficult to meet, the shift to iXBRL has affected various filer types, and will soon affect more, and has caused serious problems for filers.

That’s where Transform’s Stitcher functionality comes in. With the ability to combine portions of a document, your team can complete different parts of your SEC filings one at a time and then easily stitch them together in whatever order you need after all parts are assembled. If it’s an iXBRL filing, your team could complete the tagged sections of the HTML document, send that section off to your iXBRL tagging provider, and then stitch all components together with the iXBRL tagging already completed. This approach removes the bottleneck of having to wait until the full document is assembled before starting the tagging process, and allows you to make last minute changes to untagged sections without forcing you to go back to your iXBRL provider for an updated version.

Whether your company is filing a thousand page mutual fund prospectus or a two page 8-K filing, stitching documents can help make the process of composing your filing more efficient. Contact us to hear more about how Transform can help with all of your SEC filing needs.
